Q. How long will a flat roof last?
A. 5 - 50 Years. Of course this depends on materials, skilled labour and the roofs design,  how it is pitched etc. However, we have been hired to repair roofs that have been literally weeks old.

Q. Can you put Felt over the top of Asphalt?
A. Yes, you can put felt over asphalt but this does depend on the condition of the roof and the existing asphalt that is already on the roof.

Q. I have noticed condensation in my roof space, “ how can I prevent this?
A. The only practical way to prevent condensation is through effective  ventilation. By promoting cross currents of air, the entire roof void will be kept well ventilated and will disperse any water vapour before it can condense. This is especially important with flat roofs.

Q. Is Asphalt better than High Performance Felt?
A. This really depends on the roof, each product has its advantages and disadvantages.

Q. Do you still use hot bitumen (tar)?
A. Not so much anymore, it is very dangerous for us roofers.  Besides the new torch applied High Performance felt systems are more advanced now and have a bitumen type layer built in.

Q. How do I know you are any good?
A. Probably the best question of all.  B & D Moore Roofing has been trusted to do some of the highest  risk buildings in England including power stations, railway substations, military installations, computer server buildings, international financial buildings and government buildings, oh and really nice pubs! Plus many more.
